Logitech MX Master 4S: Editorial Review

Score: 4.5 / 5 MSRP: $159 Test duration: 3 weeks

Logitech’s MagSpeed wheel remains a standout for productivity—rapid free-spin for long docs and precise ratcheting when needed. The 4S iteration refines thumb button placement, reducing accidental presses and improving comfort for extended use.

Options+ software provides per-app mappings; we assigned horizontal scroll to timeline scrubbing and tab navigation. Flow between three devices over Bolt/Bluetooth was stable in testing.

Battery endurance is strong: roughly 6–7 weeks of office use per charge, with USB-C passthrough operation. Right-hand only design remains the main constraint; left-handed users need an alternative.

Strengths

  • MagSpeed wheel excels at productivity
  • Ergonomic shape with improved thumb buttons
  • Long battery; USB-C charging
  • Reliable multi-device Flow

Limitations

  • Right-hand only
  • Premium pricing
  • Bolt receiver sold separately

Editorial Decision

For document-heavy or timeline-heavy workflows, the MX Master 4S remains our default recommendation. Left-handed users or those needing a lighter gaming-oriented mouse should consider alternatives.
